Associate Art Director Sean Marino said "we noticed that a lot of players loved the Reaver skins but we didn't have a sci fi skin that hit the same dark tone as Reaver. We literally asked ourselves, 'what would edgelords who love sci fi want in a skin? What would it feel like to kill a demon?'" The result was a dark, edgy science fiction theme that blends futuristic tech with fantasy horror, featuring a sci fi purple and black color scheme with golden accents and electric animations. Marino added that "looking at Reaver, the audio and animations were what sold the power fantasy the most, so we invested a lot into custom animations and sounds for the reload, equip, idle, and inspect." The Vandal features a glowing power source on the weapon model and electric guitar kill sounds that became a signature of the line. The bundle includes the Vandal, Operator, Stinger, Shorty, and the Blade of Chaos Sword, a two handed melee. The Prelude to Chaos collection (EP 5) was notably the only Exclusive Edition non limited time standard collection to launch without player cards, an oddity that was later corrected when a player card was added to the V25 bundle. Features 4 upgrade levels and multiple color variants. The skin line's popularity led to Prelude to Chaos 2.0 in September 2025, which kept the electric guitar kill sounds and the same model style while adding updated visual effects, including a glowing power source that shifts color from blue to purple during movement and a reload animation where the power source breaks apart and is replaced by hand.
